Like the English WOW™ saddle the WOW™ Western is supremely comfortable as well as having some very unique patented features.

Tree The key to the success of the WOW™ saddle is the unique carbon fibre tree design which has Lateral Flexion™. This literally means that the tree is very flexible laterally but not longitudinally which means that the bearing surface and weight distribution is maximised. The tree twists just in front of the riders seat therefore allowing a still seat but real freedom of movement of the horse’s shoulders.

The tree widths are changeable with an interchangeable headplate on to which the horn is mounted. Therefore this Western WOW™ saddle can be fitted to the very highest wither or the flattest backed horse! If you want a saddle without a horn the WOW™ Western can take a Standard English WOW™ headplate making it lighter still! Width fittings are the same as the English WOW™ saddle being Extra Narrow all the way up to 8X wide!

The saddle uses a slick fork design (no swell) with bucking rolls; these are interchangeable for different sizes and shapes. The whole saddle is a fraction of the weight of traditional western which will appeal to riders.

The saddle can be fitted with English girthing or western cinch girthing. The fenders (stirrups) attach to the saddle on English style stirrup bars; of which there are two each side giving two positions (forward and backward) for the riders leg. This also gives the safety of detachable stirrups not found on traditional western saddles.

It has been on our wish list for years to developed a race exercise saddle. But like everything we do we don’t just copy we innovate. EVERYONE that has tried this saddle has been impressed with the difference in stride length, suppleness and development of muscle.

This saddle still uses WOW principles but refined for better weight. The tree will appeal to those who prefer the half tree saddle but don’t like what they do to a horse’s back.

We developed the saddle using our own pressure testing equipment and we have a report of the initial findings you might find interesting.

We believe we can improve the performance and well being of a race horse by the use of this saddle.

Also see go to our video that shows you how you can adjust the saddle to keep the performance of your horses at their peak.

"The horses are all much freer through their shoulders both on the flat and when jumping. I love the ease of adaptability to fit different horses, being able to fine tune them and make subtle changes to the balance while on board which would be impossible in a traditionally flocked saddle."

Francis Whittington

"Since using the Wow saddle I have felt a huge difference in Affinity Bay's way of going. He has the ability to come up more through the shoulder which allows him more easily to come under with his quarters and 'sit' in work such as canter pirouettes."

Daisy Coakley

"My horses are far to valuable to me in every way, to consider using something as vitally important as a saddle, for any reason other than the horse's ability to perform to the very best of its' ability& WOW and Flair are a major step forward in the way we saddle our horses."

Richard Davison

"I chose to use my jump Wow saddle to be safe and secure in such a big atmosphere, and absolutely loved getting to gallop in the main arena Championship just before the Derby! Annacotty and I qualified for the RoR Tattersalls Show Final back in may at Stafford County Show. Riding in the Final at Hickstead in his first year of retraining was a dream come true."

Horses change shape – so should your saddle

Horses change shape – so should your saddle

It is a well-known fact that horses change shape Or maybe it is not – A horse can feel a fly land – so obviously changes in the rider’s weight distribution are going to affect the horse. I suspect we just do not appreciate how little change is needed to alter the way...

Sweat marks and Flair

Sweat marks and Flair

As with most things Flair we have to think about this a little differently than the “stable myths” would have us think. For example, you are unlikely to have an even dampness from sweat under the saddle. The Flair is a soft air fill, it is designed to move with the...

Saddle fitting in your hands

Saddle fitting in your hands

Saddle fitting is complicated. Trying a lot of off-the-rack saddles will get a close fit. You can have them modified by a saddle-fitter. Better yet, you can have a saddler build a perfectly fitting saddle, which will fit when its built but cannot accommodate the...
